The 30 years I spent with my darling wife Doreen came to an abrupt end on Sunday 27 January 2008. We met when I was at the lowest point in my life and she raised me up to see the sun and smile again. Whilst the pain of her loss is so difficult to bear I can still smile as I remember the wonderful life we have shared. Her vitality, independence, positive attitude in the face of adversity and strength of character coupled with her love of family and friends will be sorely missed.
I would like to thank most sincerely all those people family, friends and Doreen's ex-colleagues who have sent cards and letters of condolence. They have been an enormous support to me and only confirm the positive impact she had on everyone she met. My sincere thanks to all those who made donations at the church and direct to the funeral director. The Stroke Association will benefit from receiving a cheque for over £2000.

My darling sister
Doreen you were a sister both loving and true, we loved each other and I'm greatful we knew. We were not only sisters but also great friends, sisters by chance but friends by choice to the end. Now I've an emptiness deep inside with an ache in my heart that I cannot hide. I will keep you with me here in my heart and you will always be there where ever I go with your joy of life and your fabulous smile. I will try to carry on living life to the full but I know I can never get over loosing you. I miss you so much Doreen. Still with us
We are struggling to comprehend the reason for your passing and to express the depth of our sorrow and sense of loss. You were very special. We celebrate your life and the warmth, love and affection you gave to us all.
